Self guided walks around this Victorian site with riverside chalets situated on the banks of the River Leam. A haven of birds, butterflies, bees, diverse allotments, sheds and water baths reclaimed from a Victorian Hospital.

'Sheds, Chalets and Gardens '
Established in 1894 as 'St. Mary's Cottagers' and General Horticultural & Industrial Society', with Alderman Sidney Flavel as President. At the 1909 AGM held in the former Oak Inn on Radford Road, it was renamed 'St.Mary's Allotment Association'.
Admire our creative shed and chalet designs, converted pigsties and cultivated plots. Follow the trail of Victorian hedgerows and pathways.
Linger at the Eco plot. Identify some of the 75 varieties of wildflowers seen on site. Listen and look for the 68 species of birds recorded in the last 20 years. You may even see a fox, badger or the shy muntjac deer.
Bees from two hives produce honey, available to purchase from the welcome desk.
Walk the hazel lined pathway to the River Leam and the former landing stage used in crossing to Newbold Comyn.
A recent book about our history, written by three of our members, entitled 'Twenty Acres and a River' will also be on sale.
