Celebrate the beautiful artisan craftsmanship within the building including the Victorian & 21st century stained glass windows. Exhibitions about past and current places of Worship and Walkley cemeteries. Visit the bell tower to meet the bellringers

St Mary’s church is joining Walkley Historians, Walkley Community Centre and Walkley Library in this one day event to celebrate the history of Walkley, its buildings and its people.

• Visit the bell tower & meet the bell ringers
There will be a number of exhibitions, photographs and maps including
• The History of Walkley’s Cemeteries with Hugh Waterhouse
• 'Walkley Ebenezer Primitive Methodist Church and its Historical Connections with the Walkley Community.' Hilary Bull of the Walkley Historians.
• The History of St Joseph’s, Home and Hospital, Howard Hill, run by the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul– Now Sheffield Buddhist Centre. The building also served as an Industrial School & Reformatory for Catholic Girls.
• Photos of the St Joseph’s primary school, Howard Hill/Birkendale from 1900-1981

This is a chance to visit three of Walkley’s finest buildings and meet representatives from other buildings and organisations.
