St Mary Immaculate RC Church

St Mary Immaculate was built in 1860 and designed by Edward Pugin. The main altar is adorned with gilded images of Saints and Martyrs and the smaller chapel of Our Lady has an oak carving of the Virgin and Child. Lord of the Rings author J. R. R. Tolkien married Edith Bratt at the church in 1916.

At 2.3pm Bob Vella will give a talk on the history of St Mary Immaculate Church. The church will have an Icon display of original hand-painted religious icons. Some of the artists will be present to talk about their works.
