St John the Baptist, St John's Street, Winchester
St. Johns Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 0HF
St John's is a Grade I listed building mentioned by Pevsner. Among our many treasures are some 13th century wall paintings and a wonderful 18th century chandelier.
During this year's event, we will be displaying our Elizabethan Turret Clock, which is currently awaiting restoration. Come and learn about its history at St John's, how it would have worked despite having no clockface, and our future plans for its return to being a fully working demonstration piece.
During the day stewards will be available to talk about the history of the church and the Turret Clock. There will also be a printed guide available.
