St John's, Margate, are delighted to welcome visitors to this historic church again this year as part of Heritage Open Days. The church is celebrating connections with our local community and the church bells which are once again back in action.

Sunday 8th September 2024

There is a special service of re-dedication of the bells by the Archdeacon of Canterbury at 10.30am on the morning of Sunday 8th September (to which all are welcome).
From 12 noon the church invites all who are interested in both the heritage of the building and the more recent history of the congregation to come and join us..
The local community has worshipped on this site for nearly 1,000 years and the current congregation are working together to prepare for the next 1,000 years at the heart of this community.
Our church and facilities are accessible for all.
Join us for a free tour of the church by local historian Robin Colyer at 2pm on Sunday.
Tower Captain Simon Friend will demonstrate the bells with the help of fellow bell ringers.
David Lammler, our gifted organist, will entertain visitors with organ interludes.
Refreshments are available to buy in our pop up cafe space in the church.

Saturday 14th September 2024

The church is open to visitors from 10am to 4pm as we also look forward to welcoming those taking part in the Kent sponsored Ride and Stride to raise money for their own church and the Kent Churches Trust.
Refreshments are available.

Sunday 15th September 2024
