Explore inside a rare Art Deco church, built in 1932-33, and see an exhibition telling the story of the local community - through contemporary local magazines, photographs, original maps and parish registers, from 1910, when a church was first built on this site. We have fine woodwork, a unique wooden 'Maiestas' (Christ triumphant over death) above the altar and an engaging and welcoming interior design. We also have plenty of exhibits essential for understanding the story of Sedgley Park and Prestwich. Listen to our bell, which originally rang out over Britain's worst Victorian slum - Angel Meadow in central Manchester. It belonged to the church of St Michael's - and was given to St Gabriel's when its original home was demolished.
