Signal Box and Community Garden, Warmley
Warmley Signal Box, High Street, Warmley, Bristol, Bristol, BS15 4ND
This Grade II-listed Midland Railway Signal Box will be open for visitors. It has recently been restored to mirror how it would have looked in the early 1960s when it was still a fully operating Signal Box. Volunteers will be available on the day to demonstrate how the levers worked. There is a pleasant garden beside the Signal Box, and, the nearby Waiting Room Cafe, for refreshments. On the lower level of the Signal Box, information boards are populated with the history of the Midland Railway in the local area, and the story of Warmley Signal Box. Several of our volunteers are ex railway Signal Box operators, and, therefore, have expert knowledge. The Signal Box is situated alongside the Bristol/Bath Railway Path and it is a short cycle ride away from the Avon Valley Railway in nearby Bitton. Some family activities are also being planned for including face painting and Vintage Bus Rides.
