Shipley Town Hall will be open for visitors to view the impressive Council Chamber, view historical memorabilia, the legacy of Sir Norman Rae and Shipley Urban District Council.
This is an impressive sandstone building in the centre of the town. Built in Neo-Georgian style and constructed by local people during the Great Depression.
The Lord Lieutenant of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the Earl of Harewood, opened the building on 2 December 1932.
The Town Hall served as the Headquarters of the Urban District until 1974. The building is currently as offices by the City of Bradford Metropolitan Council and was extensively refurbished in 1998.
