Secrets of Stoney Littleton Long Barrow and its Landscape

Stoney Littleton Long Barrow is one of the country’s finest accessible examples of a Neolithic chambered tomb. Dating from about 3500 BC, it is 30 metres long and has multiple burial chambers open to view.
For the first time , English Heritage will be offering exclusive tours of Stoney Littleton Long Barrow. Find out about the fascinating history of this site and the stunning landscape around it.
Tours will be held during the 2024 Heritage Open Days Festival, on 11 and 12 September at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. The tours last approx 1.5 hours. Booking is essential

Please note the walk to the site is a moderate up hill 1/4 mile climb with five stiles to cross. The route can be muddy in places, so we recommend sturdy footwear.
Sheep are regularly grazing the fields en route, so please keep dogs on a lead. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before your tour is due to start.
