See the archaeological excavations and Tudor foundations at Scadbury Moated Manor – which still has its moat around it.

Visitors can follow a self-guided trail around the moated manor site. They will see the archaeological excavations and the foundations of the Tudor kitchens and great hall, showing how these would have been used when the house was owned by the Walsingham family. Visitors can also see World War II defences and a restored shepherd’s hut.

Directions:
No on site parking. Limited disabled parking by enquiry to [email protected]. Entrance to the site is where the estate footpath passes the moated site. Nearest access from road footpath next to 14 St Pauls Wood Hill, turning left along nature trail. Buses R11, B14 stops L and F. Walk from Old Perry Street is 30 minutes along nature trail.
