  • 15 Sep 2024
  • In person

A social walk rather than a guided tour. As much for your well-being as for improvement of your local knowledge. Join James Dixon, Conservation Officer, archaeologist, and walker at The Cross.

This eight-mile walk (undertaken at a moderate pace) will start from The Cross and walk out to points one mile from the City centre, north, south, east, and west. In doing so, we will experience the scale and topography of Roman Chester and its environs. The walk is intended as a social event rather than a guided walk per se, but there will be opportunity to hear about and discuss key parts of Roman Chester’s wider landscape. The walk will take two and a half to three hours.
