The Mills Archive will host guided walks highlighting Reading’s mills and renewable energy sites. Starting at Watlington House with an exhibition, walks are led by historian Margaret Simons. Pre-booking is essential. Walks are on September 13-15.

As part of Heritage Open Days 2024, the Mills Archive will hold guided walks to celebrate the launch of their new walking route, which encapsulates Reading’s mills and renewable energy sites. The walk will start at Watlington House with an exhibition: a visual representation of its stops and their history. Margaret Simons, Mills Archive Trustee and seasoned historian will then guide attendees around Reading, narrating more about its history along the way. The exhibition and walk will last for around 90 minutes, and pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited. 4 walks in total will be held: 1 on 13th September, 2 on 14th September, and 1 on 15th September.
