Rails into Chester talk at Grosvenor Museum
The Grosvenor Museum, 27 Grosvenor Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 2DD
Chester is an important railway junction, second only to Crewe in Cheshire. A gateway to the North wales coast with routes to Merseyside from the south crossing. In the 1880s railways were the major employers in town with busy locomotive depots, carriage and wagon works servicing the two stations.
The talk will look at how all this came about.
