Puttenham Barn Bunkhouse - Visit!
The Street, Puttenham, Guildford, Surrey, GU3 1AR
View a typical Surrey barn with its weatherboarding, and long steeply sloping tiled roofs known as catslides and waggon porch, described as "vernacular Eighteenth century" by Pevsner. Please turn up any time between 1100 - 1600 to view the restored barn, which now operates as a bunkhouse for walkers and cyclists. Refreshments will be provided and no pre-booking required.
Do you like cycling?
To celebrate being part of the Friends of Nature Houses network, we are also running FREE coordinated cycle rides from other hostels - and invite you to join us on these new routes! With ride options for both leisure and keener cyclists, you can take in the fresh air of the countryside before finishing the day discovering the heritage of the barn.
Our short ride is from the Sustainability Centre/South Downs Eco Lodge near Petersfield (30 miles / 6 - 7 hours including lunch break).
The longer ride starts at the Court Hill Centre in Oxfordshire, and includes staying at the barn on Saturday evening.
Pre-booking is required for both cycle rides and is on a first come, first served basis.
