Portland House Open Day
24 Belle Vue Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 8RZ
Portland House will greet you with a stunning palm-fringed drive and looking like an Agatha Christie film set. The luxurious interiors have been lovingly put together, retaining many of the original 1930’s features such as the kitchen, bathrooms and light fittings. Filled with period furniture, it’s easy to imagine that you’ve stepped back in time when you visit here. Large French windows open out from most rooms onto two broad terraces outside (one above the other), and the house is designed to make the most of the south coast sun.
A hidden gem on the Dorset coastline, Portland House looks over the glittering water and basks in the tropical climate of the South Coast, which rivals the Mediterranean on a sunny day.
Normally a National Trust holiday cottage for 12 guests this house is only open once or twice a year for visitors so it is a rare treat to see inside.

A food and beverage unit will be serving drinks and cakes. Free entry. Due to this property being built into the side of a hill there are lots of steps and accessibility could be difficult for some. On street parking only but we do have a limited number of blue badge spaces closer to the house. Please speak to the welcome manager on the day or email in advance to book: [email protected]
