Get up close with the historical archive of the police forces of the southwest of England, at the Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall.

Comprising thousands of documents, charts, maps, and photographs dating from modernity to as far back as the early Victorian period, the Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall archive is housed at the Devon Heritage Centre in Exeter. The archive contains 200+ years' of policing ephemera, from documents to maps, unique 'Beat Books' to benevolent society registers, photographs, pocket books, crime scene investigations and even information on wartime aircraft crash sites. If you thought policing was predictable, think again! Housed in roller racks in a secure strong room, come for a guided tour of the archive to understand more about these important research resources at the fingertips of the general public.
