Play Lawns & Walled Garden Tea Party at Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury
Crow Nest Park, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, WF13 2SG
We’ve teamed up with the volunteers and Friends of Crow Nest Park to create a special event to celebrate Heritage Open Days.
Crow Nest Park and the Mansion House has a special place in Dewsbury’s history. Since 1893 it has been a public park for the people of Dewsbury and the walled garden, originally the Mansion’s Kitchen Garden is now the pride and joy of the Friends of the park with its beautiful seasonal flower beds and mature shrubs.
As part of the event, we will be bringing the ‘Play Lawns’ in front of the Mansion House back to life with a range of fun activities for all the family to enjoy. You’ll also be able join others for a sit-down tea party, take part in arts and crafts activities, try some circus skills, explore your own journeys, routes and connections by contributing to our giant map. You can also lie back, relax, grab some headphones and enjoy a spot of cloud gazing. Hear the soothing sounds as you explore the clouds above you.
All activities will be taking place throughout the afternoon. However, If you would like to join us for a spot of tea then we advise you to book and secure your places(s). Sittings will take place on the hour at 1200, 1300, 1400 and 1500. To book simply click on the link below. There will also be walkabout performances from Trixie and Tilly – two eccentric tea ladies who serve their fine leaf drink from their special, musical tea trolley whilst dancing to the favourite records on the gramophone as they swirl and stir along the way.
