Owned by Linkage Community Trust, a Lincolnshire-based charity that supports people with learning disabilities, Weelsby Hall is about to undergo a £2m scheme of renovation and restoration works funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Built for George Sleight, first Baronet of Weelsby, in the late 1890s Weelsby Hall is vitally important to Grimsby’s local history and fishing heritage. It was acquired by Linkage Community Trust in 1982 to serve the local and national needs of people with learning disabilities. Until the recent preparations for work began, it served an important role on Linkage’s Weelsby Campus. Free guided tours around part of Weelsby Hall and an opportunity to explore the grounds.
