Octagon Chapel

Built in 1756 the Chapel is home to a thriving congregation of local Unitarians. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the splendid interior of this unique building and to learn more about its architecture and history. Although primarily a place of worship, it is also well known as a venue for concerts and other musical events.
As part of the programme of Heritage Open Days there will be a circular guided walk, entitled “Over the water” led by historian Charles Lewis on Saturday 7th September and Saturday 14th September at 2pm. The walk starts at the Octagon Chapel, connecting sites and their stories on both sides of the river, It lasts approximately 90 minutes. There will be organ music played from 11am on Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th September.
There are Unitarian services held at 11am on Sunday 8th and Sunday 15th September, all are welcome.

There is no charge for a guided tour of the chapel or restrictions on numbers. On September 8th there will be a Concert given by Mirlitons, a flute choir at 1500. Tickets are £8, concessions £7. Charity to be announced.
