NYMR LNERCA Tours
Park Street, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 8JJ
Visit the NLHF Atkins Building at Pickering Station, home to the detailed carriage restoration of the London & North Eastern Railway Coach Association (LNERCA). Here, a dedicated team of volunteers, obtain, operate and lovingly restore a collection of ex-LNER heritage carriages which the NYMR use on the railway. Known as the Teak Set, these have a special feature of being a teak mounted body on a steel under-frame, with their resulting varnished teak finish giving a striking appearance. Inside they are very different from modern coaches and travelling in them is like stepping back in time, with nostalgia oozing from every corner.
These 45 minute tours give you an opportunity to inspect their heritage carriage restoration close up.
