Nothe Fort Open Day
Nothe Fort, Barrack Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 8UF
Nothe Fort is Weymouth's No. 1 heritage attraction, offering fantastic 360-degree views across Dorset's Jurassic Coast. Built as a Victorian coastal defence, Nothe Fort was used during WWII and had a secret nuclear shelter built during the 1980s. Nothe Fort was saved from dereliction by Weymouth Civic Society, and today is run by an army of local volunteers. Discover a maze of underground tunnels, nuclear shelter, a museum, parade ground, and large guns positioned high on the ramparts. We recommend 2-3 hours to see everything.
