Apart from the enormous changes brought about by the English Reformation during the sixteenth century Norwich Cathedral has gone through many English reformations during its history.
This tour will look at some of the people involved in the growth of the early Church in England leading up to the founding of Norwich Cathedral.
We will look at the founding of Ramsay Abbey by St Oswald - Herbert de Losinga became Abbot here before going on to be Bishop of Thetford and then the first Bishop of Norwich in 1096 when the cathedral was founded.
We will look at monastic reform and religious reform and how in spite of all these changes Christian worship continued to take place in the cathedral from its foundation to today with very little interruption.
And what about the influence of continental Europe? The influences from France in particular can be seen in monks, cantors, glaziers and architects amongst others.
