Newcastle Deaf Centre

2 Summerhill Grove, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, NE4 6EE

  • 13 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking preferred

Located in the stunning Grade 2 listed Georgian Terrace overlooking the Summerhill Square, the Newcastle Deaf Centre opens its door to unravel its fascinating history and inspire the public with its rich architectural interior, and its vision.

The Deaf Community project was established in 1932 in partnership with the St. Vincent de Paul Charity (known as SVP) and until today offers a safe space where support guidance and information is offered to our clients.

Under new management, since 2023, the project works inclusively with deaf, hard of hearing and hearing communities.
The Centre engages its members in academic research, technology studies, and advocacy, and focuses on finding new ways to empower our community. By seeking new ways of bridging the gaps in communication between different communities we build trust with our clients, witnessing a wonderful progress happening in their lives.
Our DC Cafe will be open for refreshments, homemade snacks and light lunches.
