New Wave Forum Film Makers' Party

We are inviting submissions of short films (approximately 2 - 10 minutes each in length) made by people aged 18-25 years old, living in the North East of England that are are based on the film-makers' concepts of heritage. Those films will be submitted by 4th July, then to be selected and programmed by a youth panel ready for our event in September. The films will be brought to audiences on the big screen in our lovely original art deco cinema in the heart of Hexham. We will be running a tea-time event on Saturday 14th September 2024 where anyone can come along to see the films and meet the film-makers in a lively, friendly and free screening.

- Look for the white art deco building on the edge of the Market Place, we are situated just above a well-known pub, the door of to the left hand side of the pub doors. There is a flight of stairs up, but we have a chair lift to use if you are unable to manage the stairs - just ring the bell by the lift and a member of staff will come to assist.

- Either pre-book or rock up on the day and choose a seat as you enter. There are 187 seats in the cinema and you can choose where you would like to sit when you book. We also have 2 wheelchair spaces and a wheelchair lift into the auditorium. Accessibility details
People wishing to use our chair lifts must be able to transfer from chair to chair. We do not have a hearing loop but we do have several hard of hearing headsets - please try to let us know beforehand that you would like to use one, and we will have it all ready for you.
Additional information
There is ample local parking around the town at The Wentworth, on Gilesgate, in The Market Place and on Beaumont Street. There are regular trains and buses into Hexham from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Carlisle and all the towns and villages along the Tyne Valley.
