From connecting habitats to providing food and shelter, hedgerows provide many benefits to wildlife as well as to people. On this guided walk within Norbury Park led by the Surrey Wildlife Trust we will talk about the heritage craft of hedgelaying, and why it’s so important for hedgerow management. Different styles of hedgelaying will be discussed and why it is important to managed hedges. We will also enjoy the sounds and sights of nature along the way: chalk grassland and woodland plants, birds and butterflies.
