Modern Records Centre, University of Warwick Archives, "Dive into the Olympics: Sports in the Archives", talk and exhibition
Modern Records Centre, University of Warwick, Coventry, West Midlands, CV4 7AL
Discover the diversity and richness of The Modern Records Centre (MRC) at the University of Warwick, which celebrates its 60th Anniversary next year, with a dive into sporting heritage in this Olympic year. MRC, founded in 1973, has a rich range of records in its care, with over 1500 collections specialising in political, economic, and social history, with a particular focus on industrial relations, industrial politics, protests and the people involved.
Our 2024 summer and autumn exhibition, Olympics in the Archives, showcases the sporting politics at play within the pages of the MRC's collections, and a talk will provide a brief history of the MRC before diving into a selection of sporting stories, illustrating the richness and variety of our collections, in our seminar room.
Whilst on the University of Warwick campus, you may also wish to visit the Mead Gallery (in the Arts Centre) or take a walk around the campus' modern art Sculpture Trail.
