  • 14 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Taylor’s Bellfoundry Museum will be open to the public 10am-3pm on Saturday 14th, with bookable slots to tour the Foundry’s Casting Hall, led by Taylor’s Foundry Foreman and our experienced Tour Guides.

Come behind the scenes with us at Taylor’s Bellfoundry for our 2024 Heritage Open Day, part of the Loughborough Heritage Open Weekend.

On Saturday, 14th September our newly renovated Museum will be open (free of charge) from 10am-3pm.

Throughout the day, there are a number of pre-bookable slots available for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Taylor’s Casting Hall. This is a rare opportunity to explore part of the foundry that is usually closed to visitors. Led by Taylor’s Foundry Foreman and one of our experienced Tour Guides, you’ll have chance to view the casting pit, moulds, and furnaces up close. Master Founder Antony Stone will talk you through the casting hall, including for example an up close demonstration of the mould-making and inscription process. (Please note that the content of the demonstration may vary slightly owing to the demands of current jobs).

The behind the scenes tour is only suitable for those aged 18+. The museum is suitable for all ages!
