  • 13 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Ever wondered how this exciting collection of South and South East Asian art and crafts found itself in the centre of Norwich? Discover more about our wonderful collection and behind-the-scenes work with our curatorial team.

The South Asia Collection is dedicated to recording, conserving and promoting the traditional arts and crafts of South and South East Asia and cares for a vast and varied collection of architectural pieces, furniture, textiles, art, and crafts. Each item in the collection has its own history and stories of context, crafting, and use associated with it. Our curator, Mansi S Rao will share stories of our favourite objects in the collection. Whether it’s the story of how an object came to be here in Norwich or tales from fieldwork on our many international research projects, there will be something that sparks excitement!

Join us to also hear more about behind-the-scenes work, learn more about our collection, and discuss our plans for the future.

The South Asia Collection is open Monday to Saturday 0930 - 1700 and is free to visit. However, please book for the talk using the details below.
