Meadow Management in Queen's Park

Queens Park, Victoria Avenue, Crewe, Cheshire, CW2 7SE

  • 08 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Join Cheshire Wildlife Trust to learn the heritage skill of scything and how to protect our historic meadows.

We will be running a wildflower meadow celebration day in Queens Park. Activities will include:
• Have a-go-at scything
• Bug Hunts and wildflower ID
• Craft activities

The activities are all about celebrating the traditional and wildlife friendly ways to manage areas of wildflower rich grassland. These methods can be applied to any meadow – from Queen’s Park to your back garden. In England, gardens take up more than four and a half times the area than that of our National Nature Reserves, so why not take these methods home and see if you can encourage more wildlife into your garden!
