A late 19th century Methodist Church, refurbished for modern comfort but original features undiminished. A self-led trail explains key features and a special display tells the story of the building and the congregation.

Use our trail leaflet to explore at your own pace. We will have some historical items and documents on display. We recommend you stand at the front of the worship space and admire the modern stained glass. Light refreshments. Family friendly. Bike n Hike cyclists and walkers very welcome.

Location & directions

Methodist Church, Marlborough Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3XG

Directions:
We are on the edge of St Albans city centre, just off Victoria Street. We are about half way between St Peter's Street (buses) and the City Station (trains and buses), walking time 5 to 10 minutes, and lots of interest on the way! The nearest car parks are London Road or The Maltings. Note that Marlborough Road is a one-way street, northbound from London Road towards Victoria Street. Over the summer an Active Travel scheme is scheduled to be carried out: this will create a contraflow cycle lane on Marlborough Road and traffic lights will be installed on the junction with London Road. A good fit with the Routes-Networks-Connections theme!
