Join Pontefract Civic Society for a walk around Pontefract town centre to discover the late 19c traders of our market town.

Pontefract, as a market town, has a long and distinguished history of commercial trade, both in terms of retail outlets and markets.

The walk will commence at the Cartner's public house in Shoemarket, highlighting the late Victorian traders in this street. Moving on to the aptly named Market Place, where the focus will be on the market town buildings and traders in the locality.
