The MRDC gallery was completed in 2018 and contains one of only four 'bell ringing simulators' in the world. Its bell tower is world famous because in 1715 the first ever peal was rung. You will see both.

For over 600 years there has been a bell ringing on this site and our bells have been rung on all sorts of important local and national occasions such as in celebration of Queen Elizabeth I's birthday and the 'Spanish Armada' 1588. During your visit, you will be able to visit the Mancroft Ringing Discovery Centre's ringing chamber and the exhibition up in the church tower. Ascent to ringing centre is by medieval spiral staircase, so unfortunately this event is not suitable for wheelchairs
