Making Connections at Prittlewell Priory
Prittlewell Railway Station, Railway Approach, East Street, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS2 6LG
Many now think of Prittlewell as just an area of Southend on Sea, a small offshoot of the wider, seaside city popularised by Victorians pleasure seekers and commuters. However, Prittlewell predates Southend by hundreds of years, as the original settlement in the area. A stop on the well travelled Southend to London line, hop off the train at Prittlewell Station and take a guided walking tour to the priory, passing through two thousand years of local history, to discover just how 'connected' the area truly is.

The walking tour from Prittlewell Station to the priory is step free throughout, although we will be navigating surrounding streets and roads with curbs and slight inclines. Prittlewell Priory's ground floor is step free, but there are stairs to access the top floor. There are fully accessible toilets, baby changing facilities and refreshments available at the Priory Visitor Centre at the end destination of the tour. Parking is available at the Priory Park Car Park, near the end destination of the tour. Visitors are encouraged to take the train, or use greener options like walking and cycling.
