Lowestoft Arts Centre
13 St. Peters Street, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 1QA
Lowestoft Arts Centre is located in the triangle marketplace, on the historic old high street of Lowestoft Town. It's north of the town, and the area is connected to the site of The Beach Village, also known as The Grit. There are echoes of the place as you go down to the beach via the score, with a series of steps leading you down to the space where all the homes of the local fishing families lived. The history and model of the beach village can be found in the Heritage Centre, and there are many books written about the history of the area.
It’s a non-profit group of artists, friends, and customers that has been there for 24 years. Our late founder was Carolyn Reeder, a local artist, potter, spinner, and weaver. We hold monthly exhibitions as members can rent the wall for exhibition. The general public is welcome to visit, and we also encourage new members to join us.
Especially for the Heritage Open Days festival, come and discover more about our site with information boards showing the site maps and the history of our heritage building, which dates way back to Tudor times!
