  • 14 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

A unique, illustrated talk. Daryl Fraser reads from his Lowestoft novel, Silver Harvest, which covers the period 1826-1956. Local historian, Ivan Bunn, explains the historical setting.

Silver Harvest is a historical novel and family saga, set in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The narrative follows the fortunes of generations of a fictional family, the Chapmans, who are placed in the context of the real history of the town as it grows from a small population to become a premier port and resort on the East Coast. Ivan Bunn is a well-known local historian and author whose knowledge of the town is unsurpassed. Selections from his large collection of illustrations and archive material will enliven the readings. Daryl and Ivan will be available to meet visitors in the Library foyer during the afternoon.
