Local Architectural Landmarks - Selected Stories

Headstone Manor, Pinner View, Harrow, City of London, HA2 6PX

For the Heritage Open Day Festival 2025 we look at selected stories of the buildings which shape our borough, Harrow, and its surrounding areas.

The buildings around us have many stories. Let us share with you some of the great highlights. From the placing of a church on Harrow Hill, to the influences still reflected in our Metroland suburbs, to the surprising stories which led to the building of a stadium in Wembley.

Judith Shepherd, local resident, leads the annual St Mary’s Church/Harrow Hill Trust Heritage Open Day Festival Walks each September and is the Editor of the St Mary’s Church, Harrow-on-the Hill newsletter.
This year, she will also present her materials at the Tuesday Talk at Headstone Manor.

*There will be a collection at the end - proceeds will go to The Spire Fund of St Mary’s Church Harrow-on-the Hill for much needed capital projects for this 931-year-old church.
