Step aboard The Golden Hinde for a music-filled day! There will be live performances by local groups in the afternoon as well as the chance to learn about the first English ship to circumnavigate the globe under the command of Sir Francis Drake.

Join us on Sunday 8th September for Live at The Golden Hinde, a day of music, learning and fun! As one of Heritage Open Days New Wave events this has been created and organised by 18-25 year olds.

The Golden Hinde, a full-size reconstruction of the first English ship to circumnavigate the globe, is berthed beside the River Thames next to Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market. This historic setting is the perfect backdrop for a day packed with activities and experiences for all ages.

Live Performances: Enjoy live performances from local music groups, including the Nightingale Singers.

Historical Exploration and activities: Discover the incredible challenges faced by Sir Francis Drake and his crew, including skirmishes, storms, and scurvy. There will be Hands-on activities that are fun and informative that will make history come alive for all ages.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a music lover, or just looking for a unique experience, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

By river London Bridge City Pier (6 minutes walk) and Bankside Pier (8 minutes walk). Thames Clippers serves both piers. By bicycle Cycle parking is available in the area.
