Lister Lane Cemetery Open Day
Lister Lane, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 5JL
Opened in 1842 as the Halifax General Cemetery, the cemetery became the final resting place of nearly 20,000 individuals until its closure in the 1960s. Listed in Historic England's 'Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England' and recognised as a Significant Cemetery in Europe, its memorials provide an index of many who shaped the development of Halifax in the 19th century.
Come along on one of our guided tours. We have many stories to tell you about all sorts of people buried at Lister Lane Cemetery.
