Commemorating the Battle of Britain and coal mining during the Second World War, remembering the Bevin Boys who were drafted into the coal mines to help the war effort. The winding engine will be running, and the lamp room and cottage will be open.

Sunday 15th September, remembering the impact of the Second World War on coal mining in the North West of England. There will be a display and talk on the Bevin Boys working in coal mines, and the tea room volunteers will be dressed in WW2 outfits. There will be tours of the former coal mine site with emphasis on coal mining during WW2. The winding engine will be running, and the lamp room and cottage will be open.
