Nine women arrived at Lady Margaret Hall in 1879 and Lady Margaret Hall remained a women's college until 1979 when men began to be admitted. Lady Margaret Hall has kept its pioneering roots, becoming the first Oxbridge college to establish a Foundation Year for under-represented students in 2016.
