The tour starts and ends at All Hallows’ Church.
Within the church there are information stands displaying further facts and photos and guides available to give you further information about the church’s rich history. Spend time enjoying the exhibition of the Kirkburton and Highburton Heritage Project with 17 local landmarks beautifully depicted in various textiles. Families can even try out weaving themselves with mini looms and other craft activities-no booking required.
We will also show you how to navigate the Burial Grounds Management System website to find an ancestor! You can also find out how to adopt a grave!
Finally, you can join the Highburton and Kirkburton Sketchers, trying your hand at sketching some of the beautifully carved gravestones you have seen during the tour.

The ground around the graveyard is very uneven in places so appropriate footwear is advised. This tour is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
we would suggest a whole morning or afternoon is put aside for this location as there is lots to do inside and around the church. Please see separate event booking for the Historic walk before graveyard tour.
