This is a chance to view some of Kendal’s beautiful heritage items and to learn about the history of the town and how it has developed over the years. A relaxed talk with the opportunity to ask questions and handle some of the items.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how Kendal came to be the town it is today and to discover how it has grown and developed over the years! The talk offers people a chance to see how the past has informed and influenced the town's present, illustrated by a number of historically important pieces of Council treasure and artworks, including pieces by George Romney. Katherine Parr's Book of Devotions will be on display as will some of the royal charters and other items that signify key points in the town's growth. The talks will be led by a knowledgeable guide and will include an opportunity to look around the many items in the Parlour and to handle some of them under supervision.

These talks are ideal for anyone with an interest in local history or who wants to learn more about Kendal and the surrounding area, and its growth from its earliest mention in the Domesday Book until today.
