Have you ever walked past the blue door hidden on Tavern Street in Ipswich and wondered what was behind it? Now is your chance! We will be opening our buildings to non-members to explore the Ipswich Institute, local history and heritage.

On Saturday the 7th of September 2024 the Ipswich Institute will be opening both its buildings, Library and Reading Room on 15 Tavern Street and Admiral's House in 13 Tower Street, to non-members. Come and find out more about this Ipswich institution that has been part of the community since 1824. Explore our member's library, enjoy refreshments in our onsite Page's Café, learn about our leisure learning courses, trips, guided walks and creative workshops and discover the history of Admiral's House - where the Duke of Wellington once stayed. All ages are welcome.
