A profound exploration of displacement depicted by refugees. Shared stories, forged bonds, and redefined safety through embroidery, each piece tells a unique story, forming a narrative of resilience and unity.

Supported and funded by Arts Council England, this exhibition is the resault of a yearlong project aims to bring about the unique voices of Refugee Support Group (RSG) members. At the heart of the project lies a profound exploration of displacement – what it truly means to be uprooted from one's familiar surroundings and thrust into the unknown. Through our weekly drop in sessions participants wereinvited to share their stories, grapple with their emotions, and forge bonds with one another.

"Interwoven Tale" confronts vital questions about the provision of a safety net for displaced individuals, shedding light on the challenges they face in their day to day lives amidst bureaucratic hurdles. Through the lens of humanitarianism, the project seeks to redefine the concept of safety and solidarity, both metaphorically and tangibly, by weaving together a network of support through the art of embroidery.

Each embroidered piece serves as a testament to the unique touch of feeling and experience brought forth by its creator, yet collectively, they form a powerful narrative of resilience, unity, and hope. From the initial stitch to the final flourish, "Interwoven Tale" invites viewers to engage in a dialogue that transcends boundaries of language, culture, and geography.
