Industrial Heritage on the High Peak Trail - Minninglow Limekiln and Brick Kiln

Come along on a guided tour and hear from the Peak District National Park's fabulous and knowledgeable cultural heritage volunteers, who will tell you all about an historic limekiln and brick kiln just off the High Peak Trail near Minninglow. You will learn about the history and importance of these structures as well as sharing some of the fascinating insights into the challenges faced in conserving them.
Tours are entirely free but are timed and booking is preferred so we can manage numbers on site. Choose between 10:30am, 12:30pm or 2:30pm on Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th September 2024. Parking is at Minninglow Carpark on Mouldridge Lane with the tours STARTING AT THE LIMEKILN (NOT THE CAR PARK). Arrive in plenty of time to walk down the trail, (east out of the car park) for approximately 1 mile/20 minutes for the start of your tour at the limekiln. The limekiln is located at NGR SK 20570 57375.

There is wheelchair access along the High Peak Trail from Minninglow Car Park, and the limekiln and brick kiln can be seen, for the most part, from the trail. Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access into the field nor down to the front of the limekiln or down to the brick kiln.
