Kett’s Heights in Norwich was the headquarters of Kett’s rebellion in July and August 1549. This talk explores social and family connections, historical parallels, and the landscape of rebellion.

Our speaker, Patrick Adams, will take us through the origins of Kett’s Rebellion and the journey taken by Robert Kett from yeoman farmer standing up for the rights of the common man to his execution as a “traitor”. This talk will look at the various locations in Norwich associated with the rebellion where simple farmers were pitted against foreign mercenaries in an unequal struggle for social justice. After the talk you will have the option to join a tour of nearby Kett’s Heights.
