Solve the clues as you follow the trail from Winchester City Museum to Hyde Abbey - King Alfred's resting place and the location of Hyde900's Heritage Open Day events. Discover some fascinating facts along the way.

Pick up the leaflet from Winchester City Museum and follow in the steps of the 12th century procession that carried King Alfred's coffin from New Minster to Hyde Abbey. This self-guided trail is designed principally for children but adults will also discover some interesting historical facts along the way. There are more activities and events to explore when you arrive at your destination.
The trail can be combined with other Hyde900 events and offers an interesting route to Hyde900s base at St Bartholomew's church where you'll find activities for children, medieval tile making and much more.
