Follow this self-guided trail for children (and adults!) to discover the evidence of the remains of the Abbey hidden all around Hyde.

A must for archaeological detectives of all ages. What happened to Hyde Abbey after it was completely destroyed in 1538? Grab a sheet and follow the trail around Hyde to discover the evidence of the remains of the medieval abbey that is all round us in Hyde.

There are a number of ways to find us: 1.) Hop on a King Alfred Bus (participating in the Heritage Open Day)There are regular free bus trips from the City centre to Hyde (approx 10 minutes) and back. 2.) Follow a City Walk to Hyde: Alfred's Final Journey (available from the Tourist Information Office) 3.)
