Huddersfield Narrow Canal & Railway - Marsden to Tunnel End

The Old Goods Yard, Station Road, Marsden, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD7 6DH

  • 15 Sep 2024
  • In person

Join us for a morning walk to find out how first the canal and later the railway arrived in Marsden.

Learn how the railway and canal subsequently developed; including epic stories of the building of the 4 Standedge tunnels and the canal restoration after closure and abandonment. The walk finishes at Tunnel End where you can visit the museum and the cafe, perhaps ending with a short trip back to the starting point on the Canal Society's own shuttle boat. Organised in association with Huddersfield Canal Society.
