The story of Victorian entrepreneur William Peacock, the Hope Brothers factory, and how it changed the fenland village of Littleport.

The Littleport Society welcomes visitors to join us at The Barn, where we will be sharing the story of Victorian entrepreneur William Peacock - a local man who founded Hope Brothers Ltd and its factory in the fenland village of Littleport. Our exhibition tells his story of how he built his business, and then expanded it to include a factory and the impact that it had on the generations of local women it employed. Hope Brothers Ltd may now be gone, but the Hope Brothers legacy lives on with its architecture, leisure, and of course, our collection of original items and clothing from the Littleport factory itself.
